If something feels not right in your life and prevents you from experiencing it fully, I am here to help. We all face challenges throughout our lives and sometimes we need extra support to carry us through.

About Me

My name is Emil Petecki, and I am a Psychotherapist in Advanced Clinical Training at Metanoia Institute in London. I work with individuals and couples, both in person and online.

My journey into psychotherapy is rooted in a deep-seated belief in the tremendous potential for growth and change in all of us. With a compassionate approach and an utmost commitment to you, I strive to offer a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore and understand yourself and your relationships with others.

I particularly specialise in depression, grief, anxiety, relationship difficulties and interpersonal communication.

I am a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics. ID: 2011187564

My Approach

At the heart of my psychotherapeutic approach is Transactional Analysis (TA), a powerful and comprehensive framework for understanding personality, communication, and patterns of our behaviour.

We will work together to identify your interactions, understand the scripts that guide your life decisions, and recognize the games you may unconsciously participate in. This awareness creates a powerful foundation for long-term personal growth, improved communication, and healthier relationships. TA is particularly effective for those looking to deepen their self-awareness and break free from unhelpful patterns.

My Goal

Empowering you with the tools and insights that assist lasting change, fostering resilience, and promote personal growth. Each session is carefully tailored to the individual needs, always ensuring a respectful, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment.

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but it is a very courageous move towards self-discovery and change. I invite you to reach out for an initial consultation where we can discuss your needs and how we can work together towards achieving your goals.

You can also call me on +44 7934920604 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.

All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.

My treatment room in Ealing is easily accessible. It is located approximately five minutes from West Ealing station and about ten minutes away from Ealing Broadway station. There is free parking in front of the building.

YOU MAY NOT KNOW IT, BUT YOU’VE ALREADY TAKEN THE FIRST STEP...

It can be scary and confusing to make the decision to contact a counsellor or a therapist. Realising that resolving a problem requires something more means that you have actually already taken the first step towards improving your life. I look forward to embarking on this therapeutic journey with you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many sessions will I need?

It is difficult to predict that at the beginning of therapy. I aim to offer an open-ended process during which we can decide together what you wish to focus on and periodically review our work.

How long will I have to wait for an appointment?

My aim is to offer a first appointment - known as an initial assessment - within 1-2 weeks. Then we would arrange a set number of counselling sessions to take place at the same time every week, that is convenient for you and where I have availabity. How quickly these sessions can begin will depend on the availabity of that free ‘slot’.

Will everything I say be kept confidential?

Everything that is said within the counselling room is private - this is one of the main ways counselling and therapy differ from talking to a friend or relative. Once you are comfortable with the format of weekly sessions and the safe space they provide, you will find the freedom to speak in confidence is of great value.

Note that there are some situations where you may be a risk to yourself or others, and there the law requires that I notify an authority; in these cases I may not be able to keep total confidentiality. Breaking confidentiality is very rare though, and only happens after the person concerned has been informed.

Can I bring a friend or relative with me?

Usually I am asked this question by people who are nervous about entering into counselling, or when they are looking for support in coming to see a therapist. This anxiety is understandable, but a key aspect of therapy is that you should feel free to talk about any issues you feel are important to you. Having someone else with you who can be connected those issues makes this opening-up more difficult, so for this reason I do not see clients accompanied by friends or family.
